He's 2nd or 3rd highest try scorer and right up there in the top 5 for linebreaks. I honestly believe he is turning into a superstar. We were woeful against Penrith a few weeks ago yet Uate scored a hat trick of individual tries for us and nearly won us the game single handedly. I'm not saying put him in this year but he's certainly a future prospect for NSW imo. Let him play for country this year and see how he goes

Uate is a gun! He is one of the best wingers in the comp imo. I probably wouldn't have him in the NSW team this year (and like Mel said - pretty damn unlikely he'll get picked) but definately a future option for sure, hopefully his defence improves because it lets him down. I think though if he keeps working on it he will just get better and better because he has so much potential and skill.

This is a bit off topic but he is also really passionate and interacts great with the fans, which makes watching him at games even better. Hes one of my favourite players.

Out of all the wingers in the NRL, he is leading the linebreaks, he has scored the second most amount of tries so far, third best at total runs taken, second best metres gained, third best tackle busts, third best kick return metres, he is in the top 3 of everything that has to do with attack so there is no denying the guy can attack and do it well but like you said its his defence that lets him down that little bit. He's not the worst but he is far from a brick wall. But when he plays outside of MacDougall, they work so well together in defence so I could just imagine him playing next to defensive monsters like Morris, Tahu or Scott. If people want to consider Jennings for Origin when he really does have the worst defence, you cant really put too much on Uate. And as for Brett Morris, Uate is ten times bigger and stronger and he does work for his team. He has brilliant footwork and arguably just as fast as Brett.

We might be being biased but I really think Uate is something special. I would love to see him in a sky blue jersey and with the lack of good wingers we have to choose from, I dont see that being too far away.

I think if it's anyone that deserves a NSW spot from Newcastle it's Uate. He's been outstanding for you blokes. I was impressed with him.

But it all depends if he wants to give up his spot with Fiji.

I hope he doesn't we need more quality players playing for the "minnow" sides making our international game as stong as possible should be a major goal of the NRL, ARL and the international governing body. This is why I think players like Hayne and Civo should go and play for there country of birth/origin.

Diet Fist I reckon he would do it in a heartbeat. Cause then later on down the track he could play for Australia.

Aiden I would love to see him carve up the Queenslanders one day and I think you would rather see him do the same thing than play for Fiji.

It's a nice thought, but he'd have to make himself available for selection by making himself unavailable for Fiji. Would he be willing to do that on the off chance of making the Origin side?

I love him I always pick him as my first try scorer.

I would love him in Origin. If he had Chris Lawrence inside him then he would be ace (is Chris his side centre?)

anyway I do agree sadly with Mel as our selectors have been the reason for our downfall the last 4 years. Til they get it right Im afraid QLD will be favourites.

Get Gus Gould in NSWRL to sort them out!!!!!!!!!

You're so bias to Newcastle mate. Not that that's such a bad thing.

This is NSW selectors, they will pick the usual suspects, they don't bother looking at form.

He deserves to be there, but knowing the NSW selectors he won't be.
