Ive heard that kids and even adult support QLD cause they like Inglis or Slater, i think its like an Aussie supporting ENG cause you like Kevin Peterson, its treason!

You support where your heart lies.

It's funny but when people move from NSW to Qld they often change allegiance, but I've never come across it the other way round. Queenslanders who move south (for whatever reason) still always seem to support the maroons.

I only have a problem with players who turn their back on their state.

Well it is no big deal who you support, as long as you are supporting Rugby League that is the most important thing, Qld have had a lot of success the last few years so i thinks some people like to support a winning team. I am sure there are people living in Qld who support NSW for one reason or another, anyway next year when NSW start on their winning streak some of that QLD support may return to NSW, support who you like and enjoy it, but remember "Dont cross the river if you can't swim the tide" and dont forget to ask yourself what does QLD mean to you or are you just getting on the good ol QLD bandwagon.

mate...understand where your coming from and actually agree with you in some way, but we've got to understand that the game is going national now - so its not just a case of where you were born (sure if NSW/QLD is your birth/resident state than there's some grounds to your argument), but know we have supporters from all corners of the country and the world. I agree with many on this forum, as long as the game is growing than its all good!!!

I agree with you, if you are born in NSW then you should be fully committed to your state. I'm not even born here but support the Blues because I live in Sydney. I'm proud to support the Blues and live every good moment and ride every bad moment with them!! But in the same breathe I say this, there is no different Jarred Hayne playing for Fiji last year and now playing for Australia or even closer to home for me, Fuifui Moimoi playing for Tonga last year and now playing for the Kiwi's in 4 Nations, Michael Jennings also in this list, this is a mockery of the sport and is complete TREASON and not oly do non loyal fans do it but so do the players and so does the governing body of the sport. Back to the supporters, you should be able to support any NRL team you want because they have multi national, international and state players in every team, so it isn't really patriotic but supporting your state is like supporting your country, it is about heritage!!!

I live in NSW and i support the Maroons, but that's because i was born in Brisbane.

Those people who just support QLD or NSW because they like a certain player or whatever, i have no problem with. If you wanna support a certain team then go ahead. Those people usually know nothing about League though (well most of them), so it really doesn't bother me.

I support Queensland, mostly because I support the Melbourne Storm. I have no interest in this Qld vs NSW fued, so I don't really care too much.

Reason I support the Storm- Picked them out of a hat, when I was 9, have supported them ever since.

being a proud Qld'er its the other way here, a lot of people go for NSW cos they say they HATE the broncos, my brother is born and bred on the GC but goes for NSW, i think it's a case of which NRL team you follow, if you follow a NSW team, you go for the blues, if you follow a QLD team you go for the maroons, im an exception though, i go for Parra but am a proud gold coaster

I'm from NSW but support Qld in SOO. I remember the days when the Blues were made up of Queenslanders like Beetson, Reddy, Close, Kelly, Gallagher. Qld always tried but as new players evolved for the Maroons, they were quickly gobbled up by Sydney clubs. I suppose it was just to see the underdog get up and get stuck into the Blues.

True blue supporters keep supporting the same team. They don't change whenever the makeup of the team changes. I'm happy for people to support whoever they like. What I don't like are the people that change mid game or mid series.

People can support who they like. I was born, bred and still live in Melbourne. My mum is from Brissy so I support the Maroons 100%. At the end of the day, WE ALL SUPPORT THE GAME and thats all that matters as far as Im concerned.

surely fans can support whoever they like.

It's certainly wrong. You shouldn't support a state based on a player. You should support the state you were born in or live in. If you don't then you are an idiot.

No at all. I know heaps of people in Queensland that want the Cockroaches to win Origin!!

I duno, it's up to them isn't it? It's a bit wrong because they're not being loyal to their state, you might call them traitors too. But I still reckon it's up to them who they support.

NO i suppport the doggies and the queslanders, reason i was born in the gold coast but i have lived in sydney all my life.
